Our project portfolio

Twelve projects, one place

Twelve projects spanning global health challenges, core scientific R&D, philanthropy and policy. Each has its own page setting out the work, the evidence, and exactly how you can take part.

The through-line

Why these twelve sit together

A single scientific through-line connects almost every programme in this portfolio: controlled hormetic stress, ignited by controlled hypoxic modulation, which is itself the core tool of mitochondrial medicine.

The same mechanism that protects tissue under extreme-environment load underlies the work on Lyme, autism, neurodegeneration, diabetes, fertility and the exposome. It is the same physics in each case, applied to a different condition.

That is what makes the breadth of this portfolio coherent rather than scattered. These are not twelve unrelated research efforts. They are one deeply studied mechanism, applied across the conditions where the evidence indicates it should work.

Mitochondrial medicine

Where hypoxic modulation sits among the tools

Mitochondrial medicine is composed of several levers. These are the four that matter, and the reason our research concentrates on one of them.

Controlled hypoxic modulation

The most powerful of the available tools, and the one our research concentrates on. Substantially more effective than hyperbaric oxygen alone.

Hyperbaric oxygen

Widely used and well understood. Effective, but a narrower lever than controlled hypoxic modulation.

Fasting and dietary protocols

A genuine mitochondrial effect, and the most publicly discussed. Slower and less targeted than oxygen modulation.

Targeted supplementation

Creatine and related compounds supporting cellular energy production as part of a composed protocol.

All four are components of mitochondrial medicine

Most public discussion of mitochondrial health covers fasting, diet and hyperbaric oxygen. Controlled hypoxic modulation is far less widely understood, and it is the most powerful of the four. That gap is where our research concentrates.
